NON-TEACHING STAFF SCHOLARSHIP – Tip Friendly Society

INTRODUCTION

This scholarship is for TIP Friendly Society members employed as non-teaching staff at an educational institution for at least two (2) consecutive years, and who are currently pursuing a tertiary degree.

Before starting this application, please gather all required supporting documents. All files must be uploaded as PDF, JPG, or PNG and must be clear, readable, and officially issued where applicable. Incomplete or unclear submissions may delay or disqualify your application.

REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE GRANTING OF SCHOLARSHIPS

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. The candidate must be a member of TIP Friendly Society for at least six (6) months and in good financial standing.
2. The candidate must currently be on staff at an educational institution and has been a member of staff for at least 2 consecutive years immediately prior to the application date.
3. The candidate must be currently pursuing a tertiary degree.
4. The candidate must have a G.P.A. of at least 3.5.
5. The candidate must be a Jamaican national.

Application form must be accompanied by:
1. Proof of current enrollment at an accredited university
2. Evidence of program completion date (on or before August 2027)
3. Certified transcript or progress reports
4. One character reference from an approved category
5. Employer’s letter confirming two years of service
6. Evidence of approved study leave (full-time students only)
7. Statement of intention after completing the program
8. One passport-size photograph
9. Proof of Jamaican nationality

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Application form must be accompanied by:
1. Evidence that the applicant is currently pursuing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree atan accredited university.
2. Evidence of program completion on or before August 2027.
3. Certified copies of progress reports.
4. One (1) character reference from one of the following officials, who is a citizen of Jamaica,not a member of the applicant’s family and has been personally acquainted with the applicant for a period not less than twelve (12) months:
5. Minister of Religion, Justice of the Peace, Attorney-at-law, Principal, Medical Practitioner, Resident Magistrate, Parish Councillor, Manager in a Financial institution.
6. Employer’s letter certifying employment of the candidate at the current institution for at least 2 consecutive years immediately prior to the application date.
7. Evidence certifying approved study leave from the employer (full-time students).
9. Statement of intention of applicant after completion of program of study.
10. One passport size photo.
11. Supporting documentation verifying the candidate as a Jamaican national

Proof of Current Enrollment in an Accredited Institution

Upload an official document confirming you are actively registered in your tertiary program. This may be an enrollment letter, student status letter, or registrar-issued verification. The document must show your name, institution name, and the current academic period.

Character Reference Letter

Provide a signed and dated character reference from one of the approved categories listed in the scholarship guidelines:

Employer’s Letter Confirming Two Years of Service

Upload an official letter from your employer confirming that you have been employed at your current educational institution for at least two consecutive years before the application date. The letter must show your start date, your current role, and be signed/stamped by an authorized officer.

If you are applying as a full-time student, upload documented proof that you have been granted study leave. This must be an HR-issued approval letter or an official email clearly showing your name, study leave period, and employer authorization.
