This application is for TIP Friendly Society members pursuing an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Education. Please upload all required supporting documents in PDF, JPG, or PNG format. Documents must be clear, readable, and officially issued where required.

Incomplete applications or unclear documents will result in delays or disqualification.

REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE GRANTING OF SCHOLARSHIPS

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. The candidate must be a member of TIP Friendly Society for at least six (6) months and in good financial standing.
2. The candidate must currently be on staff at an educational institution and has been a member of staff for at least 2 consecutive years immediately prior to the application date.
3. The candidate must be currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Education.
4. The candidate must have a G.P.A. of at least 3.5.
5. The candidate must be a Jamaican national.

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Application form must be accompanied by:
1. Evidence that the applicant is currently pursuing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree atan accredited university.
2. Evidence of program completion on or before August 2026.
3. Certified copies of progress reports.
4. One (1) character reference from one of the following officials, who is a citizen of Jamaica,not a member of the applicant’s family and has been personally acquainted with the applicant for a period not less than twelve (12) months:
5. Minister of Religion, Justice of the Peace, Attorney-at-law, Principal, Medical Practitioner, Resident Magistrate, Parish Councillor, Manager in a Financial institution.
6. Employer’s letter certifying employment of the candidate at the current institution for at least 2 consecutive years immediately prior to the application date.
7. Evidence certifying approved study leave from the employer (full-time students).
9. Statement of intention of applicant after completion of program of study.
10. One passport size photo.
11. Supporting documentation verifying the candidate as a Jamaican national

Proof of Current Enrollment in an Accredited Institution

This document should confirm that you are actively registered in your current programme of study. Acceptable evidence includes an enrollment letter, a student status letter, or an official verification issued by the registrar’s office. The document must clearly show your name, the institution’s name, and the current academic period.

Evidence of Program Completion Date

Provide official confirmation of your expected graduation date. This may be a registrar’s letter or programme outline from your institution indicating the anticipated completion date. The date must be visible and issued by the school.

Certified Progress Reports / Transcript

Upload your most recent academic results. These must be certified by the institution—stamped, signed, or officially issued by your student portal. Digital transcripts are accepted as long as they are official and unaltered.

Character Reference Letter

Submit a signed character reference from one of the approved categories listed in the scholarship guidelines. The reference must clearly state the referee’s position, contact details, and the length of time they have known you (minimum 12 months).

Employer’s Letter Confirming 2 Years of Service

This letter must confirm your employment at your current educational institution for at least two consecutive years. It should show your start date, current position, and be signed/stamped by an authorized representative of the organization.

Approved Study Leave (Full-Time Students Only)

Full-time students must upload formal proof of study leave approval. Accepted documents include HR-issued approval letters or official email confirmations from your employer granting leave for your programme of study.

Passport-Size Photo

Upload a recent passport-style photograph showing your full face with a clear background. The image should be high-quality, unfiltered, and taken within the last 6–12 months.

Submit a valid document confirming your Jamaican nationality. Acceptable options include your birth certificate, passport, or national identification card. The information must be clearly visible and legible.

I certify that my answers are true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I give authority to TIP Friendly Society to contact any of the individuals and/or institutions named above and submitted with this application for verification purposes with respect to my character, and my responses. I do understand that false or misleading answers will lead to this application being disregarded. I am aware that the selection
process is dependent on the stated criteria and the discretion of the Society. By applying for this scholarship, I agree that if I am selected, TIP has the right to use my name and photograph for advertising and promotional purposes. I agree to be governed by the rules of TIP Friendly Society
and any amendments thereof.

TIP Friendly Society will treat all provided information confidentially. However, I understand and agree that from time to time this information and any updates provided by me may be:

ii. Shared with the Scholarship Committee assigned by TIP Friendly Society

TIP Friendly Society reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without giving reasons, to terminate the scholarship where it forms the view that continuing a relationship with me exposes it to legal, reputational and or other risks.
