Annette Fraser Staff Scholarship Application Form

INTRODUCTION

The Annette Fraser Staff Scholarship is available to permanent TIP Friendly Society staff members who have been employed for at least four (4) years and are in the final year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree program. Before beginning this application, ensure you have digital copies of all required supporting documents. Files must be uploaded in PDF, JPG, or PNG format.

All documents must be clear, readable, and officially issued where required. Incomplete or unclear submissions will delay or disqualify your application.

REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE GRANTING OF SCHOLARSHIPS

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. The candidate must be a permanent member of staff of TIP Friendly Society for at least four (4) years.
2. The candidate should be in an area of study that is deemed connected to the business of TIP
Friendly Society
3. The candidate must have a G.P.A. of at least 3.5.
4. The candidate should be in the final year of study of an undergraduate or postgraduate
degree by an accredited institution in Jamaica.
5. The candidate must be in good financial standing and of good character.
6. The candidate will be bonded by TIP Friendly Society for two (2) years following the
completion of study.

Application form must be accompanied by:
1. Evidence that the applicant is currently pursuing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree at an accredited university.
2. Evidence of date of program completion
3. Certified copy of transcript
4. One character reference from one of the following officials, who is a citizen of Jamaica, not a member of the applicant’s family and has been personally acquainted with the applicant for a period not less than twelve (12) months:
5. Minister of Religion, Justice of the Peace, Attorney-at-law, Manager from any regulated financial institution, Medical Practitioner, Resident Magistrate, Parish Councillor, TIP Manager

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Application form must be accompanied by:
1. Evidence that the applicant is currently pursuing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree atan accredited university.
2. Evidence of program completion on or before August 2026.
3. Certified copies of progress reports.
4. One (1) character reference from one of the following officials, who is a citizen of Jamaica,not a member of the applicant’s family and has been personally acquainted with the applicant for a period not less than twelve (12) months:
5. Minister of Religion, Justice of the Peace, Attorney-at-law, Principal, Medical Practitioner, Resident Magistrate, Parish Councillor, Manager in a Financial institution.
6. Employer’s letter certifying employment of the candidate at the current institution for at least 2 consecutive years immediately prior to the application date.
7. Evidence certifying approved study leave from the employer (full-time students).
9. Statement of intention of applicant after completion of program of study.
10. One passport size photo.
11. Supporting documentation verifying the candidate as a Jamaican national

Proof of Current Enrollment in an Accredited Institution

Upload an official document confirming that you are currently registered in your undergraduate or postgraduate program. Acceptable documents include enrollment letters, student status letters, or registrar-issued confirmations. The document must clearly state your name, the institution’s name, and the active academic period.

Submit formal confirmation of your expected graduation date. This may be a letter from the registrar, an academic progress summary, or a program outline that clearly indicates your anticipated completion date. The date must be visible and officially issued by your institution.

Upload a certified copy of your current transcript. This must be stamped, signed, or officially issued electronically by the institution. Screenshots or unofficial exports will not be accepted unless they come from the official student portal and include the institution’s digital seal.

Character Reference Letter

Provide a signed and dated character reference from one of the approved categories listed in the scholarship guidelines:

TIP Friendly Society reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without giving reasons, to terminate the scholarship where it forms the view that continuing a relationship with me exposes it to legal, reputational and or other risks.
